After the amazing response to my first fun little baking ebook: Brilliant British Bakes, I just couldn’t resist giving it another go!
Family Faves is a collection of some of my all-time favorite recipes. From chocolate cake to chocolate chip cookies, every recipe is tried and true, and designed for the whole family to enjoy.
Family Friendly Baking eBook
My goal with this new recipe cookbook is to share with you all some of my favorite recipes. I’ve been a baker and a pastry chef for more than 10 years, and like most bakers, I’ve got my own recipes that I turn to every time.
My chocolate cake recipe is something I tweaked from a few different recipes, years ago, and now, I never use anything else. The trick is to add hot coffee, and buttermilk *chef’s kiss*
But I also wanted to make sure these recipes can be used for any occasion. That’s why I included my amazing recipe for Peanut Butter Mascarpone Frosting. It’s so silky smooth and elevates anything chocolate-based immediately.
Baking Recipes from a Real Baker
Like I said, I’ve been doing this for a while now, so I’ve used these recipes over and over. I know they work, and I know they’re delicious.
I’m not saying that these are the best baking recipes you’ll ever try! I mean, I think so, of course. But there are so many sensational recipes out there, and I’ve yet to try them all.
What I am saying is that if you’re looking for a recipe for chocolate chip banana bread, I’ve got you covered. Copycat Levain cookies? You betcha! And I’ve even thrown in my to-die-for baked cheesecake recipe. That one is going to change your life!
Easy Baking Recipes
In my first baking recipe cookbook, I shared some classic British baking recipes that I grew up on. We talked about fluffy fruit scones and tender coffee and walnut cake.
You guys especially liked the Bakewell tarts and I loved seeing your tags on Instagram! They’re a favorite in my house, for sure!
But for this recipe book, I decided to go with some of the things I turn to in a pinch.
When my boyfriend is heading to visit his parents for the weekend, I can’t let him leave the house without a batch of my sinful fudgy chocolate brownies.
And when a birthday is coming up, I know I’m going to be getting a request for a fully loaded, baked vanilla cheesecake.
If you’re curious, I made a video to show you how to decorate a full cheesecake to make it big, loud, and over-the-top amazing:
Speaking of New Books
Since I’m sharing this new baking recipe book for the Kindle or iPad, I thought I would also share that I’m not just a baker and pastry chef. I’m also a published author!
As much as I love to bake, there’s nothing like sitting with a big, thick copycat Levain chocolate chip cookie, a good cup of coffee, and a great book.
My debut novel, Lightborn is a New Adult Fantasy. Here’s a quick synopsis:
Lightborn (Book 1 of the Nightless Series) | New Adult Fantasy | Urban Fantasy Novel
Sixty-eight years ago, the Brotherhood of Light came to power. Now, in 2091, Anya lives under the rule of the Lightborn.
For years, these men have abused their power, changing the weather and altering animals for their own entertainment. But they’ve taken it too far. The world is dying because of their reckless use of magic. Though they try to hide it, these dark spots on the earth will soon seep out, leaving decay and destruction in their wake.
Anya has remained hidden, her power a great secret she holds close. But she knows about the decay and feels a responsibility to do something. When she is captured by the Brotherhood, she is left with no choice but to help them.
But her power is greater than they could ever imagine. Will Anya find the help she needs in the future? Can she make it back in time to stop the inevitable?
After I wrote Lightborn, I went in a completely different direction with a gritty, action-packed thriller.
An Easy Target is much darker and definitely not safe for kids:
New adult thriller series. Action-packed thriller following Grace on the hunt for a missing girl. Like Jack Reacher, she fights dirty and isn’t afraid to get a little blood on her boots:
Grace works as a professional fixer. After spending the last few weeks on the hunt, she just closed a case and put a body in the ground—time for a much-deserved vacation.
But when the boss calls, it’s time to work. Now, Grace is on the hunt for a missing girl named Kasey. All her parents know is that she seemed different in the recent months. What they don’t know is why.
It’s not long before Grace finds the reason - a low-life named Jay who recorded their encounter. After the whole school saw her assault, Kasey had no choice but to run away.
Hot on her heels, Grace expects to find a sad, broken young girl running from her problems and maybe turning to drugs to get by. Instead, she finds a trail of blood and bodies leading right to Kasey’s door…and she’s not alone.
Soon, Grace finds herself on a hunt for revenge. They’ve all got blood on their hands, and they’re nowhere near done.
