The strawberry Hennessy cocktail is bright, fruity, and perfect for summer. From the sweet, juicy strawberries to the deep, rich Hennessy, it’s not one to miss.
And all you need is four simple ingredients, a cocktail shaker, and some ice.
The Best Strawberry Hennessy Recipe
Hennessy is the world’s most popular Cognac. It has a very classic brandy flavor with fruity notes and hints of oak, vanilla, and spice.
Some people taste chocolate in the mix, as well as some floral and citrusy flavors.
It’s bold and pretty strong.
So, if you like brandy, but want something a little sweeter, try this incredible strawberry Hennessy drink.
The sweet summer fruit enhances the already fruity cognac, making it super smooth and irresistible.
You’ll add a squeeze of fresh lime to brighten the whole thing up as well as some bubbles (which are technically optional but make this so yummy!).
I like to add Sprite for its citrus flavor, but if you just want the bubbles, go for club soda.
Ingredients:
Here’s what you’ll need to make two drinks:
- Fresh Strawberries
- Hennessy
- Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
- Sprite or Club Soda
How To Make the Best Strawberry Hennessy :
- Clean and cut the fresh strawberries in half.
- Put the strawberries into a cocktail shaker and muddle until they’re mostly pureed.
- Add the Hennessy and fresh lime juice to the shaker, then top it with ice.
- Shake for 20-30 seconds and strain into a glass with ice.
- Top up each glass with your desired amount of Sprite or club soda.
Recipe Variations
Not a fan of strawberries? Or maybe you don’t have any on hand? Either way, I have a few variations on this classic Cognac cocktail.
Remember, cocktails are a great place to experiment. And there really are no wrong answers! So find a combination that works for you, and enjoy!
Raspberry Cognac Cocktail
As you might’ve already guessed, to make this version, you’ll simply substitute the strawberries with fresh raspberries.
It’ll give it the same sweet fruity flavor, only with a nice tart kick as well.
I like this with Ginger Ale instead of Sprite to complement the raspberry flavor. But that’s up to you. It’s also nice with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
Blackberry Lemon Cognac Cocktail
Speaking of lemon…how about a dark yet zippy blackberry and citrus cocktail?
Just replace the strawberries with fresh blackberries, and use lemon juice instead of lime.
And yes, this one will work so well with the ginger flavor, too.
Peach Fizz
Peaches are just as sweet and juicy as strawberries, and they work wonderfully in drinks with bold spirits - like bourbon or Cognac.
Use fresh or canned peaches, then replace the Sprite or Club Soda with Champagne or Prosecco. It’ll be just as bubbly but will help combat the sweetness of the fruit.
Strawberry Basil Cognac Cocktail
Basil works surprisingly well in fruity drinks. And it’s best with strawberries, in my opinion.
So if you want to add a herby finish, make this recipe as instructed, but muddle some fresh basil with the fruit.
Spiced Strawberry Cognac Cocktail
Have you tried my spicy margarita yet? It’s seriously to die for.
And if you’re a fan of cool drinks with a fiery finish, I think you’ll love this spicy strawberry and Hennessy drink.
You’ll keep the strawberries but add a few chili flakes when muddling. This’ll give the drink a warm, spiced undertone.
Blueberry Mint Cognac Cooler
My favorite blueberry cocktail is this Blueberry Tequila Smash. It’s bright, sweet, and oh-so-refreshing.
But if you’re not a tequila lover, this Cognac cocktail is the next best thing.
You’ll replace the strawberries with blueberries and add a few fresh mint leaves to the shaker. Muddle the berries and mint, then make the rest of the drink as instructed below.
